Our History
From Brazil to Houston
| 1961 Brazil CCAA
| 2008 CCLS Houston
Our story began in Brazil in 1961, when CCAA developed its own teaching methodology and educational materials focused on interactive, structured, and meaningful language learning.
In 1993, CCLS established its U.S. corporate office in Miami, bringing this educational tradition to learners in the United States.
Since 2008, CCLS Houston has adapted this strong international foundation to the needs of Houston’s diverse individuals, professionals, and organizations—making language learning personal, relevant, and practical.
Our Methodology
Learn Through Communication
The CCLS methodology introduces language through listening, observation, and meaningful context. Students understand how the language is used, practice with guidance, and gradually apply what they learn in increasingly natural communication

A Message from Our President
A Passion for Languages. A Commitment to People.
When I founded CCLS Houston in 2008, I wanted to create more than a language school—a place where people could build confidence, connect across cultures, and discover new opportunities through communication.
My journey with CCLS began as a Spanish instructor at CCLS McAllen. That experience taught me that language learning goes beyond grammar and vocabulary; it is about developing the practical skills and confidence to communicate in real life.
Throughout my career in education, business, and community leadership, I have seen how language can open doors, strengthen organizations, and bring people together. Houston’s diversity made it the perfect place to bring that vision to life.
For nearly two decades, it has been a privilege to support our students, instructors, and partner organizations. Our mission remains the same: to provide practical and meaningful language education that helps people achieve their goals and connect with confidence.
Cinthya Trueba
President & CEO, CCLS Houston
Today, her mission remains the same as it was when she first opened the school’s doors:
To help people communicate with confidence, build meaningful connections across cultures, and create opportunities that can change lives.
