Originally from Puerto Rico, Deborah holds a BA in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Puerto Rico and an MEd in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas. Her more than 15 years of experience in Houston include bilingual teaching, school administration, dyslexia support, and district-level program management.
Her recent work has focused on performance, project, and program management, as well as coaching and professional development for adult learners and educational leaders. She brings that experience in change management, results coaching, and capacity building to her Spanish instruction.
Having learned English as an adult, Deborah understands firsthand the vulnerability and persistence involved in developing a new language. She creates an encouraging environment where students can move beyond their comfort zones, enjoy the learning process, and work toward goals that may once have felt out of reach.
