Originally from Curitiba, Brazil, Dr. Elisa is an educator, filmmaker, and language enthusiast who brings creativity and cultural perspective to the classroom. She holds a BA in Fine Arts Education, an MFA in Mass Communication, and an EdD in Higher Education Leadership.
Her background in film, media, communication, and international relations allows her to incorporate culturally relevant content into her Portuguese classes. Her teaching emphasizes practical communication, cultural understanding, and the confidence to use language in different real-world settings. She has taught Portuguese and English and has been recognized with a Best Portuguese Teacher award.
Fluent in Portuguese and English, Elisa also has experience learning Spanish and Italian and is currently studying German. Her own interest in languages helps her connect with the challenges and discoveries her students experience throughout the learning process.
